Limited Print Edition for Shala Miller

Speciwomen in collaboration with Matte Editions presents Misty, a limited print edition of six photographs by Shala Miller.

“Misty - a song about love, and my favorite one at that, has the chord progression, the ii-V-I throughout. It is my understanding that the ii chord is considered your home base, and then there is a bit of a departure that follows when the V chord is played. It is a way to build tension and feels as though you’ve left home. And then as soon as the I chord is played, the tension is resolved and although a completely different set of notes are being played, it somehow still sounds, and most importantly feels like you’ve returned home. And that is only fitting for my other favorite love song and dear friend, Elliott Jerome Brown Jr. These images are an artifact of my love for him. A kind of love that always makes me feel like I’ve returned home.”
